| Description: | The Adult Partial Hospitalization Program at Mt. Vernon is currently seeking a Senior Mental Health Clinician. Primary responsibilities are to carry a caseload of up to seven adults diagnosed with serious and persistent mental illness who present with the need for acute structured and intensive treatment to either prevent psychiatric hospitalization or facilitate community adjustment after discharge from an inpatient unit. The clinician provides up to ten hours of group-based psychological intervention a week, provides individual therapy, crisis intervention, and case management on an as-needed basis. Conducts initial assessments, individualized treatment plans, and discharge plans for each client. Coordinates with other treatment providers as needed. Collaborates with an interdisciplinary staff in facilitating the creation of a therapeutic environment for clients. Documents progress in a timely, effective fashion.
| | Minimum Qualifications: | Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field, plus two years of professional experience in a mental health, substance abuse, or intellectual disability setting.
| | Special Requirements: | Must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia in one of the following: Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Clinical Psychologist, or Clinical Nurse Specialist. The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, OIG check and a check of the Child Protective Services Registry to the satisfaction of the employer. TB screening upon hire and annually thereafter. Must possess a valid motor vehicle driver's license.
| | Preferred Qualifications: | Three or more years of group psychotherapy experience. Experience with one or more evidenced-based group treatments for managing symptoms of mood, anxiety, addiction, personality, and / or psychotic disorders.
