Significance of the Americans with Disabilities Act
2010 represents 20 years of the ADA’s existence to eliminate discrimination against individuals based on their disability. For two decades, this human rights act has expanded opportunities for Americans with disabilities by ensuring that they are treated as equal, productive citizens, free from discrimination, to access education, achieve gainful employment, and fully and actively participate in their communities. All individuals, with and without disabilities, are welcomed to submit creative posters explaining what the ADA means to them.
