EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUNG ARTISTS:

We are launching a new project in Deanwood neighborhood of Washington DC and we are looking for young artists to work with us. The project is scheduled for 6 weeks. This is a paid position. The potential candidates must live in Ward 7 and be 14 to 21 years old. The tasks will include writing, surveying the neighborhood, research, sculpting, building fiberglass structures and photography.

1. Muralist Internship 
Description: The intern will assist with artistic work on various projects. The expected work includes assistance with large paintings as well as creative drawings and development of concepts and sketches.
2. Technical Support Internship 
Description: The intern assists with all technical tasks necessary for production of public art, large art and workshops.
3. Mural Site Identification Internship 
Description: The intern will develop a portfolio and a sales pitch to identify available sites for murals. With the assistance of Albus Cavus senior staff, the intern will identify properties around the city, find the owner or property manager and negotiate access to their walls with purpose of creating art.
4. Container Internship 
Description: The intern leads a group of students and volunteers in the process of developing a project, which brings portable heavy duty tool sheds into areas of need. These tool sheds (containers) will provide the necessary materials for community residents to create small- and large-scale creative projects for the duration of their installation in the neighborhood.
5. Administrative Internship 
Description: The intern assists with all administrative tasks in a small office located in Washington, DC.
6. Media, Archival and Documentation Internship 
Description: The intern develops a system to archive hard copies of past press clippings, photos and other documents, collects documents and photos from current projects and places them onto our blog, Flickr, etc.
7. Merchandise Internship 
Description: The intern develops a system for placing Albus Cavus merchandise (t-shirt, works of art, etc.) into local retail stores and establishes partnerships with selected stores.
