Position Summary:Provides individual counseling and develops, implements and conducts daily groups incorporating a variety of therapeutic modalities in order to provide effective treatment interventions to facilitate achievement of individual focused outcomes. Documents assessments, interventions, recommendations and progress in the medical record to provide concise and accurate clinical information. Assess clinical needs of the patients and assist in developing therapeutic interventions in collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team to support achievement of individual patient focused outcomes under the supervision of a registered nurse who provides written and/or oral assignments and direction. Demonstrates knowledge, competency and skills necessary to meet the clinical needs of psychiatric patients. Maintains and inventories supplies and safety of the environment in order to support the achievement of individual patient outcomes in a secure environment.
Requirements:Experience working individually and leading or co-leading groups with patients on an adult/adolescent inpatient unit or similar mental health setting. 3-4 years to include practicum placement and paid experience in a mental health setting. Certification in area of specialization. American Heart Association BLS must be attained with in 3 months of hire date.
Education Requirements:Masters Degree in Behavioral Science (i.e. Art Therapy,Psychology, Counseling, Social Work) or Bachelors Degree with at least 8 years of experience.
