As you know, the AATA 2010 elections are in process. At the end of the process, we need a Tellers committee, consisting of 3 people, to come in and verify the results. We need chapter volunteers. The meeting shouldn’t last more than an hour or two. The details of the meeting are below, along with the responsibilities. We are looking for 2 more people and 2 alternates.
C. The Tellers shall:
1. Verify that the National Office has followed election policy.
2. Randomly select ballots in order to verify correct computer input.
3. Sign a statement of verification of the election process.
4. Inform the National Office to report to the President and the Nominating Committee Chair by telephone or email, within 10 days after the close of the election, the tally of votes cast.
5. Conduct a recount of ballots, if so requested as specified in Roberts Rules of Order, newly revised.
6. Destroy the ballots and envelopes thirty (30) days after the next business meeting following the final determination of the election results.
7. After the conclusion of the recount period, submit a written official report to members for publication and submission at the Annual Business Meeting.
Date needed: September 15, Time – any time from 9-4, depending on best time available for Committee.
