Hi all,
Friday I was at Artomatic promoting art therapy to the general public in the Automatic Arts Resource room. First I set up the space to show books, journals, and clips from short films.
And wonderful people who were very interesting to talk to showed up! We discussed art therapy for quite some time -more than an hour-in a fluid group of 4 or 5 people, and it was great to share information with very interested people...turned out they included a psychologist interested in art research, a special ed teacher, a communications expert from National Endowment of the Arts, and several other very cool folks. I even got to show them bits of Judy Rubin's "Faces of Art Therapy" and Ezeikiel Rothman's "Graffiti Art Therapy" on my laptop. Artomatic is a great partner for PATA, and next year I hope we take even more advantage of the opportunity~one of the participants even took this snapshot (I'm on the left)
Thanks all for allowing me to post this photo on the blog! Remember-Automatic is not open for too much longer-do check it out before the show closes! And join me next year in promoting art therapy in a great venue!Gioia Chilton
