Hi everyone,
In mid-February, I was approved to be the new Chair of AATA's GAC...
At the end of March, I attended the spring board meeting for AATA, meeting
current Board members and several members of the Ad Hoc Committee on
Legislative Affairs, as well as the National Coalition for Creative Arts
Therapy Associations and Arts Advocacy Day sponsored by the Americans for
the Arts. It was an action-packed four days!
As I play catch-up, I just wanted to let all chapters know that I will be
getting up to speed soon with the GAC, reforming the committee and setting
agendas for the next year. One of the most exciting developments I am
fortunate to take advantage of now is the approval and hiring of a new
Director of Public Policy in the AATA office - you may have seen this
announcement in recent AATA email updates. This position will be a big part
of legislative, advocacy, and outreach efforts and help us implement
strategies.
Please email me directly at sarah.kremer@gmail.com if you have been a member of the AATA GAC in the recent past or if you'reinterested in becoming a member. The structure is still coming together, butit may likely take the form of a state-level group (which would include all GAC Chairs and/or delegates from every chapter) and a federal-level group. If you have a particular interest in one or the other, please let me know.
Thank you! And thank you in advance for NOT replying to this posting but
emailing me directly at sarah.kremer@gmail.com.
Sarah
